Pensacola Beach Hosts High-Flying Air Show
The annual Pensacola Beach Air Show is flying high again this summer with 24 different aerial acts, plus plenty of food and live entertainment for the whole family. This year’s action-packed show, presented by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13. Admission is free. Show time on both days, which includes Friday’s Full Dress Rehearsal, is 1 p.m. Shows last for about two hours.
Stars of this year’s air-show extravaganza include Team Aerodynamix precision formation flyers, Red Star and the Dragon air combat demonstration team, the award-winning Skip Stewart air show, up-and-coming new star Kevin Coleman, the six-airplane Lima Lima flight team, aerobatic flyer Gary Ward, and the bubble-blowing, kid-pleasing Otto the Helicopter.
The air show concludes on Saturday night with a 7 p.m. concert by one of Jimmy Buffett’s favorite bands, the Tams, at the Casino Beach Gulfside Pavilion. The Tams first made a name for themselves in the 1960s with classic favorites such as “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy,” “What Kind of Fool,” and “Untie Me.” Since then, they have toured with Jimmy Buffett and earned two gold records and a platinum single. Admission to the Tams concert is free.
