Make Plans to Attend the Sandestin Gumbo & Bloody Mary Festival
Since 1989, the Sandestin Gumbo Festival, in the Village of Baytowne Wharf, has welcomed a fun-loving crowd back year after year. And this year’s festival—set for February 24th and 25th will be no exception.
Join in the fun Friday, February 24th at Hammerhead Bar & Grille’s Kick-Off Party. Live music begins at 4 p.m., with a scrumptious seafood boil serving up local catches from 5 – 7 p.m. The fun continues Saturday, February 25th from 12 – 4 p.m. with a yummy gumbo cook-off, family activities, and live music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe.
Area restaurants will compete to take the title of “Best Gumbo on the Emerald Coast.” Celebrity judges will decide who wins that top prize, while attendees vote for the “People’s Choice Award” winner.
Attendees will also choose the winner of the “Best Bloody Mary at The Beach” competition. Some of the finest local bars and restaurants have entered the contest, as well as some establishments from neighboring beach communities. This contest is sponsored by 30A Distilling Company.
The 34th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival is set to take place rain or shine, and will benefit the Sandestin Foundation for Kids and Fisher House of The Emerald Coast. Save 40% on accommodations, and order tickets here.
