Time to Wine Down on the Emerald Coast

by The Hometown Tourist on May 10th, 2011

Finally, after all these years, I was able to attend the Sandestin Wine Festival at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. I admit that I know very little about wine (and saying that I know “little” is giving myself a lot of credit).   But I enjoy it, and more importantly, enjoy the social aspect of drinking wine at an event, when I’m bound to run into fifty of my closest friends.   Pair that with a discounted ticket from Groupon and I was be-boppin’ (that’s my terminology for working the crowd) from table to table sampling some of the world’s finest and most interesting wines.   Wines from all over the states and from vineyards across Africa, Australia, and Europe.   I was particularly intrigued by the wines from Israel, as well as the geography lesson that accompanied the tasting.   Unfortunately, we arrived at the food tent ten minutes before the festival closed and missed out on all the yummies from Chan’s Wine World.   This will definitely be a modification to next year’s itinerary.

Mark your calendars now for next year’s Sandestin Wine Festival April 26-29, 2012 and book your Destin Vacation Rental or   Beaches of South Walton Vacation Rental right here on Beachguide.com!

Hope to see you there next year (I’ll be the chatty girl walking around with my wine glass still knowing very little about wine!).

Wish you were here!
