Sample the Best Brews and Spirits At Destin Beer Festival 2015
High-end craft beers, microbrews, and small-batch premium spirits will be the stars of the show at the sixth annual Destin Beer Festival, scheduled for September 22 through 26, 2015, at different locations around town.
The festival opens on Tuesday, September 22, with the Colorado Tap Takeover at World of Beer. The Craft Bar gastropub is the host on Wednesday for the Celebrity Tap Takeover. On Thursday, beer and bourbon lovers will want to make time for a Gulfside party and concert. Held on the decks at Boshamp’s, it will spotlight Lagunitas beers and Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Delaware-based Dogfish Head Brewery, which specializes in craft beers, vodka, rum, and gin, will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Friday evening at The Craft Bar.
The festival’s main event is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at Chan’s Wine World in Paradise Key Shopping Center. Tickets for the main event cost $35 per person ($45 at the door). There will be some 45 local and nationally recognized brewers and distillers offering samples of spirits and brews, plus culinary stations with plenty of tasty tidbits to complement the drinks. The festival will also feature a silent auction and live entertainment.
Festival hours are 2 to 5 p.m. VIP tickets, available prior to and on the day of the event, cost $50 per person and offer early access to the sampling (1 p.m.), special samples, and extra opportunities to chat and swap stories with the brewing experts. There will also be a VIP tent and lounge set aside for the use of premium ticket-holders. Both regular and VIP tickets are available for order online at Chan’s Wine World.
