Last weekend was the 55th Annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach, FL.   Celebrated by locals and visitors alike, Billy Bowlegs hosts a fun party on the water (think Mardi Gras on the beach; I’d keep the kids home for this one) and family-friendly activities including a pirate parade and fireworks (both kid friendly).   Hosted by the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, Billy Bowlegs is a town unifier; you know what I mean, everyone is talking about it.   The “where will your boat be at bowlegs?”, “did you get a new bikini for bowlegs”, “are you bringing the kids to the bowlegs parade?”.   If you’ve ever been to Fort Walton Beach during bowlegs, the town is filled with excitement for the weekend.   If you haven’t been, mark your calendar for the first weekend in June 2011.   Guaranteed good time.   Just bring your smile!

Wish you were here!
